Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Hexamaze (“the Application”, “we”, “our”). By accessing or using Hexamaze, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Application.

1. Purpose of the Application

Hexamaze is an educational web-based game designed to help users practice networking concepts, such as IP addressing, binary and hexadecimal conversions, and subnetting.

The Application is provided for educational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute professional training or certification.

2. Access and Accounts

To use certain features of Hexamaze (including the in-game leaderboard), you may sign in using Google OAuth.

  • You must be legally allowed to use online services in your country.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and login methods.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Application if we detect misuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use Hexamaze in a fair and lawful manner. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Engage in cheating, abuse, or attempts to manipulate scores or leaderboards.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or data.
  • Use the Application to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where allowed by law.

We may apply rate limiting, anti-fraud measures, or temporary bans in case of suspicious or abusive use.

4. Leaderboard and Game Data

Hexamaze may display public leaderboards featuring usernames and scores.

  • When you log in with Google, your first name and profile picture (avatar) may be displayed in the Top 10 leaderboard.
  • Scores, attempts, and other gameplay statistics may be stored to compute rankings and progress.

We reserve the right to reset, adjust, or remove scores and rankings in case of bugs, updates, or suspected cheating.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Our use of your personal data is governed by the Hexamaze Privacy Policy.

In particular, when you sign in with Google, we access only your first name and profile picture for leaderboard display, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not access your email content, files, or other sensitive Google data.

6. Intellectual Property

Hexamaze, including its design, logo, interface, question sets, and code, is protected by intellectual property laws.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute significant parts of the Application without permission.
  • You may not use the Hexamaze name, logo, or branding without prior written consent.

You retain any rights you have in your own content, but by using Hexamaze you grant us a limited license to display usernames, avatars, and game scores within the Application for leaderboard and ranking features.

7. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Hexamaze available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may modify, update, or discontinue parts of the Application at any time, including game modes, scoring rules, or technical features.

We may also deploy updates that may temporarily affect performance, scores, or stored data.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hexamaze is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied.

In particular, we do not warrant that:

  • The Application will be error-free or available at all times.
  • The educational content is free from mistakes or suitable for every use case.
  • The service will meet all your expectations or requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hexamaze and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Application.

Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Application is to stop using it and, where applicable, request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Hexamaze at any time, especially in cases of:

  • Violation of these Terms.
  • Cheating, abuse, or attempts to manipulate the system.
  • Security threats or technical issues.

You may stop using the Application at any time. If you wish your stored game data to be deleted, you may contact us as indicated below.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be modified.

Your continued use of Hexamaze after changes to the Terms signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.
